Long Island, NY (PRWEB) November 09, 2011

The Long Island Exchange, Long Island’s online publication interviewed singer, actress, and Broadway producer Bette Midler for the annual Hulaween event in New York City on October 28, 2011. The Long Island Exchange is the Internet’s largest Long Island based website and all-in-one rapidly growing online publishing media company. Columnist Cognac Wellerlane, from the Long Island Exchange, conducted interviews with several celebrities at the event, including Midler.
The Hulaween event was scheduled for Friday, October 28th and included a “Dia de los Muertos” theme. The annual event took place at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City and is used to benefit the New York Restoration Project (NYRP). In Wellerlane’s interview Midler discussed the upcoming goals for the organization, which includes saving parks across Long Island New York. Midler was dressed in a ghoulish ensemble as “Queen of the Dead.”
“…Finally, I realized I needed to actually do something- even if it meant picking up trash with my own hands,” Midler spoke about her involvement in the efforts of NYRP. Midler also discussed a separate annual event to promote the organization that occurs each spring. Michael Khors, a world-renown fashion designer and native of Merrick, was among the celebrities interviewed about their involvement with the cause.

Wellerlane’s column focuses on important Long Island events that often attract a vast diversity of celebrities who are both native and foreign to the Island. It also covers a wide range of celebrity gossip and charity work done in Long Island’s local communities. Comic Judy Gold, dressed as Chaz Bono, news anchor Sam Campion, and musical icon Stevie Wonder were also interviewed by Wellerlane about their support for the New York Restoration Project.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Stevie Wonder and a costume contest judged by fashion designer Michael Kors.
Long Island Exchange, dubbed the Guide to Everything That Is “Long Island”, receives nearly two hundred thousand unique visitors each month. Traffic for the Long Island Exchange web site has increased significantly over the last few years and has been growing rapidly since the website began over nine years ago.
