Bette Midler Lands Songwriters Hall Of Fame Honour

Bette Midler is to be honoured for her career achievements with a special award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The veteran singer/actress will be handed the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony in New York later this year (12) to recognise her vocal talents and long-running career.
She follows in the footsteps of previous recipients including Neil Diamond and Tony Bennett.
Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman Jimmy Webb praised Midler for her "stylish presentation and unmistakable voice, making each song her own."
Midler will receive the honour on 14 June (12) at a ceremony during which Bob Seger will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with folk songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, country lyricist Don Schlitz, Bat Out of Hell composer Jim Steinman, and the men behind The Fantasticks musical, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones.

This Year’s C-CAP Benefit Will Honor Michael McCarty!

C-CAP, the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program, is an amazing organization that works with public schools across the country to help high school students prepare for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Coming up on February 16th, their annual benefit this year will honor our very own Michael McCarty for his contributions to the cause. The benefit is a fabulous party and massive tasting from some of the best chefs in New York. McCarty BFFs Bette Midler and Martin von Haselberg will serve as honorary chairs of the event. Bette To Eat Well With Michael McCarty For A Good Cause

Bette and her husband Martin are looking forward to an evening of good food and fundraising on February 16 in honor of the great chef, Michael McCarty. Proceeds from the event benefit Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), responsible for awarding more than $34 million in scholarships for underserved youth who are interested in pursuing a career in the restaurant and foodservice industry.

The tasty meal will be prepared by more than 30 of New York’s long-time favorite and hottest star chefs.

This week Bette received nominations for “Best Show Produced by a Woman” and “Best Show Directed by a Women” for her HBO special, Bette Midler: The Showgirl Must Go On.

The WIN Awards honor outstanding individuals in politics, business, music and the media who promote gender parity through their creativity and leadership.
